Planning is central to a broad and balanced curriculum that benefits each child. The experiences planned for children need to relate to and build on their abilities, interests, knowledge and other personal and cultural characteristics. They need to be meaningful and relevant, and should support children's progress towards learning outcomes. When the context of experiences and activities is meaningful, children are more likely to learn and develop.
