The units guide students through the steps of creating extended pieces of writing in the three key text categories: Imaginative, Informative and Persuasive.
Each book has fourteen units that explicitly teach the skills of writing a wide range of text types – including Short Stories, Poetry, Expositions and Discussions, Text Reviews and Text Responses, Reports, Descriptions, Recounts and Explanations.
Students then analyse and learn from a real-life focus text.
They examine the text’s structure, stages and language features and then apply this information and knowledge to start writing on their own.
